Biochemist by degree, I kicked off my career as a Genetic Research Scientist, Pharmaceutical QC/ Research & Development Chemist, Regulatory Affairs Associate, Pharmaceutical Scientific Consultant, and recruited by the FBI as a forensics Special Agent (my brief, badass moment and truly the nail in the coffin for running). Eventually, I settled down and took on the most rewarding and challenging job there is—parenting two girls, one boy, and a border collie.

My creative space
In 2013 I landed a creative gig working in the film, game, and trailer music industry as a creative strategist. I created dozens of multimedia collaborations with composers and artists from around the world, fusing my passion for music and storytelling into innovative cross-industry events.
Who am I as a storyteller? I see the magic that surrounds us and the possibilities that live in everyday moments. I push the boundaries of technology and challenge the powers that be. I believe in infusing fantastical fiction with progressive messages surrounding social and political commentary, while delving into the inner workings of the human condition, for well chosen words have the power to influence and evoke change. A sense of humor is paramount in my world, so expect some comic relief. Heartstrings will be pulled with a lyrical touch. Characters will reflect the rich diversity of the world in which we live.

Where the magic happens
I’ve dabbled in storytelling in various forms, from short films, YouTube serials, pilots for streaming media, and music videos, to animated shorts, live performances, anthologies, short stories, and young adult novels. Whether it’s through the pages of a book, or a filmmaker’s lens, I want to move people. We are all stories in the end.

I enjoyed your bio! Partly because sci-fi and humor are part of my equation as well. (Btw, I have a couple flash fiction stories incorporating both upcoming on Flash Fiction Fridays in April and May. Not sure of the dates.) And I admire working mothers!

So nice to meet you Sam! 🙂
Such a fascinating biography! You sound like a multi-talented lady.
I’m also a musician… I play, read, sing… and I tutor 2 school choirs as well as my private piano and voice students…
I really, really enjoy writing flash fiction and MAY one day decide to publish a collection of flash fic that I’ve written over the past two years… we’ll see…

Great bio! Love the secret agent bit, and can so relate to the coffee. Miss it dearly, but it does not agree with my acid reflux…which was probably brought on by the coffee…who knows. Sigh. Coffee-less in Colorado.

Each of your A to Z posts are so well written and include so much imagery that I googled your name looking for your books. I hope novels are on your someday list as each would surely be a good read.

Hi Sam,
Hope all is well now the A to Z has finished. I actually took a look at the photos which accompanied your posts today. I can see where the idea for the book came from, such a magnificent place.
Sarah.
P.S. How is the book coming along by the way? 😉
